VANHUB UK – TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of VanHub UK and all bookings made through the platform.

By submitting a booking request or paying a deposit, you agree to these Terms.


1. WHO WE ARE


VanHub UK is a booking and referral platform operated by Steven Oldroyd, based in the United Kingdom.

VanHub UK connects customers with independent, self-employed van drivers.

We are not a transport provider.
We do not operate vehicles.
We do not employ drivers.
We do not carry goods.

We act solely as an introductory and booking platform.


2. DEFINITIONS


VanHub UK – The booking and referral platform.
Driver – An independent, self-employed van operator providing transport services.
Customer – The person requesting or booking a job.
Deposit – A confirmation fee paid to secure a booking.
Job – The agreed transport service between Customer and Driver.


3. OUR ROLE – PLATFORM ONLY


VanHub UK facilitates introductions between customers and drivers.

We do not:

  • Enter into contracts of carriage

  • Control how drivers perform jobs

  • Supervise drivers

  • Guarantee driver availability

The contract for transport exists solely between the Customer and the Driver.

VanHub UK is not a party to that contract.


4. DRIVER STATUS


Drivers are independent contractors.

They are responsible for:

  • Their own equipment

  • Vehicle condition

  • Insurance

  • Legal compliance

  • Service delivery

  • Handling of goods

VanHub UK does not control or manage drivers’ operations.


5. INSURANCE & LIABILITY


Drivers confirm that they hold appropriate insurance, including Goods in Transit and Public Liability cover.

VanHub UK does not independently verify insurance documentation.

Customers are encouraged to confirm insurance directly with the driver if transporting high-value goods.

VanHub UK accepts no liability for:

  • Loss or damage to goods

  • Personal injury

  • Delays

  • Driver conduct

  • Vehicle breakdown

  • Service quality

Liability for the transport service rests solely with the Driver.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.


6. QUOTES & DEPOSITS


Quotes are based entirely on the information provided by the Customer.

Providing inaccurate or incomplete information may result in:

  • Revised pricing

  • Refusal of service

  • Cancellation

A deposit is required to confirm a booking.

The deposit:

  • Secures driver allocation

  • Becomes non-refundable once a driver is assigned

  • Confirms acceptance of these Terms

You may cancel within 2 hours of booking confirmation for a full refund, provided the job has not started.


7. CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS


If the Customer:

  • Cancels after the 2-hour grace period

  • Fails to attend the pickup location

  • Is uncontactable

The deposit will not be refunded.

Drivers may apply waiting charges after 15 minutes. Any such charges should be agreed directly with the Driver.

If a Driver cancels:

  • We will attempt to assign a replacement

  • If no replacement is available, the deposit will be refunded


8. JOB VARIATIONS & PRICE ADJUSTMENTS


If the actual job differs materially from the booking details, including:

  • Additional items

  • Stairs not disclosed

  • Long carry distances

  • Access restrictions

  • Heavy or specialist items

The Driver may revise the price before continuing.

VanHub UK does not arbitrate pricing disputes.


9. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES


Customers must:

  • Provide accurate job details

  • Disclose access restrictions

  • Confirm if lifting assistance is required

  • Properly pack and protect fragile items

  • Ensure legal right to transport the goods

Drivers are responsible for securing items inside the vehicle.

Neither VanHub UK nor Drivers are responsible for damage caused by inadequate packing.


10. DELAYS, BREAKDOWNS & FORCE MAJEURE


VanHub UK is not liable for delays caused by:

  • Traffic

  • Road closures

  • Vehicle breakdown

  • Illness

  • Weather

  • Accidents

  • Events outside reasonable control

If a driver is unable to complete a job due to unforeseen circumstances:

  • We will attempt to assist with rebooking

  • If unsuccessful, the deposit will be refunded

VanHub UK is not liable for indirect losses, including missed appointments or financial penalties.


11. DISPUTES


VanHub UK is not a mediator and does not provide compensation for disputes between Customers and Drivers.

We may pass messages between parties but are not obliged to intervene.

All claims relating to service delivery must be made directly to the Driver.


12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY


To the fullest extent permitted by law:

VanHub UK’s total liability in connection with any booking shall be limited to the amount of the deposit paid.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect losses

  • Consequential losses

  • Loss of earnings

  • Loss of business

  • Loss of reputation

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by law.


13. PAYMENT DISPUTES & CHARGEBACKS


Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without valid grounds may result in:

  • Account suspension

  • Recovery action

  • Additional administrative charges

We reserve the right to provide booking records and communications to payment processors to defend disputed transactions.


14. PLATFORM USE


You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for unlawful activity

  • Provide false booking details

  • Harass drivers

  • Circumvent the platform in bad faith

We reserve the right to refuse or remove access where misuse is suspected.


15. GOVERNING LAW


These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes relating to platform use shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
